Coffee Filter Christmas Angels
Aren’t these angel ornaments cute? I absolutely love the glitter glue decorating their gowns. This Christmas activity is great for elementary aged children with supervision.
It’s also a great Christmas craft for adults.
Younger children can help with decorating the angel dresses and faces, but will need adult assistance to put them together.

While I recommend using hot glue, you may try using tacky craft glue. Hot glue will make the angel ornaments more durable and dries a lot quicker.
The angels look gorgeous with and without faces, so it is up to you if you’d like to add facial features. I think the closed eyes and open singing mouth adds a special touch to their look.
Kids will also enjoy creating these handprint angels. It’s a cute project that helps them work on shape recognition as well.

- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Scissors
- Fine Tip Permanent Marker
- Ruler

You will need 1 coffee filter, 2 gold pipe cleaners, and 1 wood bead per angel.
How to Make Coffee Filter Angel Ornaments
First, flatten your round coffee filters, then fold them in half once and then fold them in half again.
Apply gold glitter glue in a scalloped pattern following the embossed edges of the coffee filter. Set aside to dry.
After the glitter glue has dried, it’s time to start assembling the angel. Fold the point of the coffee filter, apply glue with glue gun and then insert into the wooden bead.
To create the halo, form a small circle from the gold tinsel chenille stem, folding the end over to secure. Trim the straight length to one-inch with scissors.
Apply glue to end and insert in hole at the top of the wooden bead head.
To create the wings, lay gold tinsel chenille stem down on a ruler (these are twelve inches long). Bring one end into the six-inch mark and twist end to secure.
Bring the other end to the center and twist to secure. Flip angel over and glue the wings directly under the wooden bead head.
To create a face, use a fine tip permanent marker to draw the closed eyes and singing mouth. Apply light pink paint with a cotton swab to highlight the angel’s cheeks.
To finish, attach a loop of ribbon to the halo to hang it up. Wouldn’t she look darling on your Christmas tree?
